Exactly one year ago from today’s day, RB Jake Rendina was of the players that the GoBlackKnights.com team picked. as one our 2024 Break Players.
As noted in last year’s introduction to the Breakout series, most of the year’s breakout players are likely to be from the defensive side of the ball, but that doesn’t preclude a few breakout predictions on offense.
But Rendina was one of the exceptions to that assessment.
Jake Rendina was listed as a linebacker with no rating from Rivals when he was recruited by Mike Viti from Glacier HS in Kalispel, Montana in 2022. We suspect that Viti may have been more impressed with Rendina’s 4024 rushing yards and 61 TDs when he recruited him. Rendina spent a year at USMAPS before entering West Point in 2023. Rendina appeared in 3 games with 10 snaps as a plebe and carried the ball once for 3 yards.
Well, that was then and GBK’s Joe Iacono had a chance to catch up with the talented back following Monday’s practice.
