Amid talks to sign Ederson, Galatasaray are attempting to sign a second Manchester City player, according to a report from L’Équipe

With James Trafford already in the door at the Etihad, and with Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma expected to join him, Ederson is expected to leave Manchester City before the closure of the transfer window. He could be joined in Turkey by Manuel Akanji (30), according to L’Équipe.

The French publication understands that Galatasaray have submitted an opening contract offer to the Swiss defender, whose agent is now expected to travel to Istanbul in order to continue negotiations. Should talks between Galatasaray and Akanji’s agent advance in the coming days, the Turkish giants will then also look to reach an agreement with Manchester City as they look to pull off a double swoop.

Akanji’s contract at Manchester City runs until the summer of 2027. He has played 136 times for the Cityzens but did not feature on the opening day of the Premier League season.
