Inter Milan center-forward Ange-Yoan Bonny believes that joining the Nerazzurri has always been his destiny.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the French striker admitted how happy he is to be part of the San Siro family.
Inter splashed out around €25 million to sign Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma earlier this summer.
Despite his limited experience in Serie A, the 21-year-old arrives with high expectations.
Indeed, Bonny could be an integral part of the Nerazzurri this season.
Meanwhile, new boss Cristian Chivu looks set to switch Simone Inzaghi’s signature 3-5-2 formation to a 3-4-2-1.
Therefore, Bonny could become a regular starter from the get-go, especially after Ademola Lookman failed to join.
With Lautaro Martinez leading the line, Bonny could line up next to Marcus Thuram slightly behind.
Though the season has yet to start, the Frenchman cannot wait to don the Nerazzurri shirt in an official match.

“We prepared the right way,” Bonny said.
“The friendlies helped me start to understand how the team plays, where I can be most useful, and what my teammates expect from me.
“Most of the group has known each other for years, but even we newcomers are adapting well.
“The preparation was tough, but now my legs are starting to respond…
“It was really intense: the training workload impressed me the most, but it’s necessary.
You realize you’re putting fuel in the tank that you’ll need later.
“With the goals ahead, a team like Inter must be ready to play many matches without leaving anything behind.
“It was a month of adaptation, discovery, and also fatigue, but really beautiful.
“I arrived in a completely new world, but my teammates welcomed me like I was their little brother.
“I should name them all, because together they create an almost family-like atmosphere.”
Bonny admitted he rejected several top clubs to sign for Inter.
“Several teams wanted me, but I had no doubts: when Inter calls, you don’t think twice,” he revealed.
“This club was exactly what I wanted – it’s where I wanted to live my childhood dream.
“As soon as I signed, I posted on social media a photo of myself as a kid wearing the Inter shirt: it was destiny…
“That was the first football jersey my mother bought me when I was six years old, and I’ll be attached to it for life.
“And this is also a very French club, considering the great players who have played here.”
New Surroundings

Bonny also commented on his price tag.
“The transfer fee? Just numbers, they don’t matter.
“It’s not my job to think about the price, but to work hard.
“I have so much to improve in everything, but especially in two areas: composure in front of goal because I need to score more, and aerial play.”
Meanwhile, he spoke of his relationship with Chivu.
“My relationship with him hasn’t changed,” he added. “He’s the same coach I had at Parma, only at a higher level, but with the same qualities.
“He’s direct, demanding, and honest.
“I’m very happy to have crossed paths with him at the right moment in my career: I owe him a lot, and if I’m here, it’s partly thanks to him.
“Now I’m very motivated and I’ll try to carve out my space, because this is just the beginning. But I like this beginning.”
Lautaro & Thuram

Furthermore, Bonny delivered his verdict on Lautaro and Thuram.
“I study them, I try to understand the details – the way they move, with and without the ball,” he continued.
“I do it in order to one day get closer to their level: right now I’m still far away.
“Both Lautaro and Thuram told me two simple things, like older brothers: first, ‘have fun.’
“Second, ‘always look for the goal,’ because we’re strikers and we’re judged by the goals we score. Here, everyone can play with everyone.
“Even together, why not? Personally, I like playing as a second striker, but I can also play as a center-forward if needed.
“I also feel comfortable starting from deeper positions.
“The fact that I played as a midfielder for years in the youth teams helps me read situations in the final third and understand the movement of others.”
Finally, he offered his view of the San Siro faithful and Francesco Pio Esposito.
“I feel the attention and love,” Bonny stated. “I noticed it in the friendlies, and now I’m just waiting for the roar of San Siro.
“Between me and Pio there was an immediate connection, not only because we’re young, but because we’re similar.
“He’s also humble, clear-headed, down to earth, and doesn’t let things get to his head.
“We had played against each other with the U21s and, even then, he impressed me.
“He has incredible physical strength – you could say he’s a beast?”
