The Indianapolis Colts could trade Anthony Richardson after naming Daniel Jones the starter. This trade proposal from an NFL analyst that involves the Las Vegas Raiders would be a strong deal for both sides.

Anthony Richardson's days with the Indianapolis Colts could be numbered.
The Colts named Daniel Jones the starter over Richardson on Tuesday, which has led to no shortage of trade speculation, especially after comments made by his agent.
"We have a lot to discuss," Richardson's agent said. "Trust is a big factor and that is, at best, questionable right now. Anthony came back and made the improvements in the areas he needed to improve. And by all accounts, he had a great camp."
After he lost the starting competition, experts from different media outlets have been throwing out trade suggestions involving the former No. 4 overall pick.
One of them comes from Bleacher Report's Moe Moton. Here's what he proposes:
- Raiders get: QB Anthony Richardson
- Colts get: QB Aidan O'Connell
Moton also points out just how high Raiders head coach Pete Carroll was on the Florida product when he was in Seattle, which only adds fuel to the fire that the Raiders might have interest in him.
"We considered him," Carroll said of Richardson in 2023. "Shoot, we flew all the way out there to go see him. Not just to see him but to be around him and watch him and how he handled himself, and his program with all the hype that was going.
"We gave him tremendous consideration," Carroll added. "He might be the best athlete that's ever been drafted at that position. He's arguably that."
O'Connell has not been good this preseason and overall in his career, but he has shown more promise than Richardson and would be a strong backup for Indy.
Despite how disappointing he has been, Richardson, 23, is still very young and it's a bit too early to completely give up on his career.
Las Vegas would be a great landing spot for Richardson. On top of having Carroll there, Geno Smith would be an excellent mentor for Richardson, especially with Smith's experience going from down-and-out to reviving his career.
Richardson would have the opportunity to sit behind Smith for at least one season and would give Las Vegas some semblance of hope at quarterback for the long haul.
Smith is anything but guaranteed to stick around beyond 2026, as he can be cut without penalty in 2027.
Richardson's fifth-year option won't be picked up, so he's under contract through 2026, which means Las Vegas will have that long to gauge whether or not Richardson can eventually take the reins.
