Despite flying under the national radar, Abingdon (Va.) power forward Annsley Trivette became a priority target for NC State women’s basketball on the recruiting trail. Soon after receiving an offer in late July, Trivette took an unofficial visit earlier this month and committed days later.

Now, after going through the recruiting process as an unranked player, Trivette entered the Rivals 100 rankings Wednesday afternoon — her first-ever ranking from any national outlet. She checked in at No. 93 nationally, the No. 21 power forward and the top-ranked player from the Commonwealth of Virginia in the 2026 cycle.

The now four-star recruit, who averaged 20.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.8 blocks and 1.8 steals en route to being named Virginia’s Class 3 Player of the Year as a junior, likely didn’t care about if she had any stars next to her name. Instead, she played to the level as if she did already, according to West Virginia Thunder coach Scott Johnson.

“There’s going to be three McDonald’s All-Americans that were on our roster this year,” Johnson previously told TheWolfpacker.com. “She blends right in, and she doesn’t care who gets the credit for anything.”

Trivette, a true power forward, fit in with Johnson’s team this summer as a key part of the program’s Under Armour Association U-17 title this past spring.  She averaged 10.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists on 60 percent shooting in 10 games. Trivette scored a summer-best 19 points and has proven to be able to go against some of the top women’s basketball prospects in the nation.

In addition to her travel basketball performances, Trivette has also been dominant in Virginia’s public school ranks through her first three seasons. She has racked up 1,722 points, 786 rebounds, 307 assists, 193 blocks and 205 steals as a high school player.

While Trivette has excelled on the basketball court, she has also been successful in other sports at the high school level as well. The power forward also won the Virginia Class 3 2025 state titles in shot put and discus, the latter of which she broke a 1985 school record with a 131-foot, 9-inch toss this past spring. Trivette is also a standout soccer player as she scored 18 goals on 20 shots, while she added eight assists, this past spring at Abingdon.

Although Trivette still has one more high school season to go before she joins the Wolfpack for the 2026-27 campaign, the newly-minted top-100 recruit is ready to look to make a splash at the collegiate level through her motivated mindset.

“She’s just a small-town kid with big-city dreams,” Johnson said. “She’s going to make something out of herself, and it doesn’t matter where she came from. That’s her family. Just hard-working, good people.”
