Michigan OL Suffers Season-Ending Injury Before 2025 Season

The Michigan Wolverines suffered a huge blow...

The Michigan Wolverines are looking to bounce back after following up their 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship with an 8-5 campaign in Sherrone Moore’s first year as head coach.

As they gear up for a new season, all eyes are on the Michigan offense — and more specifically, the quarterback position. Last year, Moore rotated through three different quarterbacks: Davis Warren, Jack Tuttle and Alex Orji.

With all the inconsistencies, Michigan knew it needed a new leader under center and got one by landing the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2025, Bryce Underwood. The former five-star recruit hasn’t officially been named the starter yet but many expect that to be the case.

Michigan also added another five-star in the 2025 class with offensive tackle Andrew Babalola. But on Monday, CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz reported that Babalola is "feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury."

Babalola was ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect in the class of 2025 and the nation’s No. 2 offensive tackle. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound lineman played at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas.

What This Means For Michigan's Offensive Line

Babalola was competing with Evan Link for the starting left tackle spot, but with Babalola’s injury, Link now appears to be in prime position to take over.

On the rest of the offensive line, Greg Crippen has secured the center position, while Gio El-Hadi has locked down left guard. At right guard, there’s a four-way battle between Nate Efobi, Lawrence Hatter, Jake Guarnera and Brady Norton. Finally, at right tackle, Andrew Sprague and Blake Frazier are battling for the starting role.
