Sunderland will look to continue their winning start as they travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on matchweek 2 of the Premier League.
Burnley vs. Sunderland lineups: Predicted starting XI, team news, injury latest as two Premier League newcomers lock horns originally appeared on The Sporting News
Not many people expected Sunderland to win 3-0 against West Ham United at home in their first Premier League match in eight long years.
However, the performances have now set a lofty standard for the Black Cats to match in their upcoming fixture against Burnley at Turf Moor on August 23.
Burnley, meanwhile, suffered a 3-0 loss to Tottenham in their return to the English top flight.
Just like Sunderland, the Clarets will also hope that their home fans can spur them on to victory as they have a reasonable Premier League home record over recent seasons, especially against Sunderland.
Despite the heavy defeat, Scott Parker had some positives from the opening fixture and will look to build on that in the upcoming clash against Sunderland at home where they have a realistic chance of victory.
On the other hand, Sunderland were extremely impressive at home against West Ham but travelling to Lancashire will be a different challenge for Regis Le Bris' men.

Burnley vs Sunderland lineups: Predicted starting XI, team news, injury latest
Burnley will continue to miss players Bashir Humphreys, Connor Roberts, Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer and Mike Tresor due to injury concerns.
The Clarets are still expected to line up the same way they did against Spurs, with Martin Dubravka in goal and Kyle Walker leading the defense with Oliver Sonne and Quilindschy Hartman providing width as wingbacks.
Josh Cullen will be the anchor in midfield while Lyle Foster is expected to lead the line in Armando Broja's absence. The former Chelsea man will probably start from the bench.
Burnley predicted starting XI (5-3-2, right to left): Dubravka (GK) — Sonne, Walker, Ekdal, Esteve, Hartman — Mejbri, Laurent, Cullen — Anthony, Foster
Injured: Humphreys (thigh), Amdouni (knee), Beyer (knee), Tuanzebe (muscular), Flemming (muscular), Tresor (unknown)
Suspended: None
Sunderland will also miss some key personnel for this fixture as players like Romaine Mundle, Dennis Cirkin, Ajia Alese, Leo Hjelde and Luke O'Nien are sidelined with injuries.
However, Le Bris will look to inspire his team as they aim to build on last week's win. Robin Roefs is expected to start in goal with Daniel Ballard and fit-again Jenson Seelt leading the backline. New signing Nordi Mukiele could be present on the bench.
In midfield, Granit Xhaka will hold fort with Habib Diarra and Noah Sadiki, who were exceptional against the Hammers last week.
Goal-scorer Eliezer Mayenda is expected to lead the lines with Chemsdine Talbi and Simon Adingra providing width on either flank.
Sunderland predicted starting XI (4-3-3, right to left): Roefs (GK) — Hume, Ballard, Seelt, Mandava — Sadiki, Xhaka, Diarra — Talbi, Mayenda, Adingra
Injured: Mundle (thigh), Cirkin (hand), O'Nien (shoulder), Masuaku (unknown), Alese (shoulder), Hjelde (Achilles)
