A big man from the Chicago Bulls that has been linked to the Golden State Warriors recently addressed buyout rumors after a recent report.
The Golden State Warriors have had a disappointing offseason thus far as they continue to await a decision by restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga.
Of course, the Warriors have missed out on multiple free agent targets while awaiting Kuminga’s decision which is a massive blow to their title hopes next season behind their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.
While Golden State has missed out on multiple free agent targets, it has been reported that they have deals in place with multiple players that are expected to be finalized once Kuminga’s situation comes to an end.
On Tuesday, the Warriors also received another massive update regarding a player from the Chicago Bulls who they have been linked to over the past few seasons.
Nikola Vucevic shuts down buyout rumors
That player is Nikola Vucevic who shot down rumors of potentially being bought out by the Bulls while speaking to BasketUSA.
“A week ago, the Bulls GM confirmed that none of it was true... I already knew that, but it’s always nice when your GM calls you to say it,” Vucevic said. “There are always rumors. Most are false. It’s a bit of nonsense... I know how the business works: in the final year of a contract, there are always speculations. Since I can’t control it, I try not to stress about it.”
Vucevic continued: "There are always rumors. Most are false. It’s a bit of nonsense... I know how the business works: in the final year of a contract, there are always speculations.

For Vucevic, he is entering the final year of his contract with the Bulls and with Chicago still in the middle of a rebuild, it was reported that they could look to buy out his contract to allow him to sign with a contender after they failed to find a trade partner for him.
Instead, the veteran center has shut down those rumors which is massive news to many teams around the NBA, including the Warriors.
Of course, the Warriors are in desperate need of a new starting center and more depth at the position after losing Kevon Looney in free agency and while it was reported that they had no interest in trading for Vucevic, they might have had interest in signing him if he was bought out.
With Vucevic’s comments, though, it appears as though the veteran big man will be remaining in Chicago next season before hitting free agency next summer, leaving the Warriors having to look elsewhere to fill their void at the position.
