Report – Ex Inter Milan Scout Played Crucial Role In Andy Diouf Signing

Former Inter Milan scout Massimiliano Mirabelli reportedly played a decisive role in the Nerazzurri signing midfielder Andy Diouf.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews. They report that Mirabelli’s mediation allowed Inter to overtake Napoli.

Lens midfielder Andy Diouf is on the verge of joining Inter Milan.

Reportedly, the 22-year-old will undergo his medicals today already. This after a whirlwind round of negotiations that saw the Nerazzurri wrap up a deal in less than 48 hours.

Reports indicate that the Nerazzurri have agreed a deal at a fee of €25 million including add-ons.

Inter will pay Lens an initial fee of €20 million for Diouf. Then, there could be an additional €5 million in add-ons.

As the Corriere della Sera notes, Lens have the same owner as Serie B club Padova, French businessman Joseph Oughourlian.

And that has made Padova Sporting Director Massimiliano Mirabelli a point of contact between Lens and Italian clubs.

Therefore, Mirabelli played an important role in the deal happening so quickly.

The Padova Sporting Director is a former chief scout at Inter. Therefore, he was a mediator as the Nerazzurri worked quickly to hijack Napoli’s deal for Diouf.
