The Sox have truly become the Yankees' kryptonite.
Red Sox continue to dominate in The Rivalry this century with insane season record against Yankees originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Boston Red Sox have been dominating the Rivalry this century, with another win against the New York Yankees. Last night, the Sox defeated the Yankees 6-3 in Yankee Stadium, with a game-sealing two-run shot by Roman Anthony in the top of the ninth.
This win gives the Sox an even more insane season record against the Yankees, leading them six to one in their past seven matchups. This season also isn’t the only time the Sox have been the owner of the rivalry, because as mentioned, they’ve owned the 21st century.
This century, The Sox have won the AL East six times, and the Yankees 10 times. However, the Yankees have only won one World Series in 2009, while appearing in four of them. The Red Sox have appeared in four World Series this century, in 2004, 2007, 2013, and 2018, and they won all of them.
Even when looking more recently, the Sox have still dominated the Yankees. In the last five seasons, the Sox lead the Yankees 37-34. What’s even crazier about that three of those five seasons the Sox haven’t even been in contention, yet still beat the forever-contenders.

Overall, it looks like the Yankees total reign of terror in Boston is over. With the new century, the Sox have taken the lead. Hopefully, they keep the lead strong with another win tonight, at Yankee Stadium at 7:05pm EST.
