Harris back at cleanup, Baldwin hits sixth against Mets

Alas, the two-catcher lineup is a thing of the past

Well, not too much to say about this lineup, as it’s the same one we saw in the middle game against the White Sox (where the Braves won 11-10). Michael Harris II is hitting cleanup again, Drake Baldwin is hitting sixth again, and the rest is as recently expected. The dream of both catchers in the lineup is a wispy fragment at this point, and it still feels like there’s going to be a cheap Marcell Ozuna extension to retroactively justify his playing time, but it hasn’t happened yet.

There’s something jarring about the throwback image and the Apple TV+ logo.

The Mets’ lineup is full of familiar faces in familiar places, except Hayden Senger. I have no memory of said guy, even though he’s played against the Braves earlier this season.

This lineup is identical to the one that saw the Mets lose 9-3 to the Nationals on Thursday afternoon. It will be just the third time Starling Marte has hit third this season; Brett Baty has also generally hit lower in the order than sixth.

Six guys in this Mets lineup have faced Wentz at one point or another — all except Juan Soto, Mark Vientos, and Senger. In a combined 21 PAs, said six guys have an aggregate .281 wOBA and .322 xwOBA, which is kind of impressive given how poorly Wentz’ career had gone before coming to the Braves. Francisco Lindor has a homer off of him in four PAs.
