Oregon football commit and Brentwood Academy five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman had 70 yards receiving, but it was running back Larry Sanders' three touchdowns that guided Brentwood Academy to a 45-7 season-opening win against Lawson on Aug. 22.
Eagles quarterback Crews Jenkins takes over the starting position that was held by Tennessee freshman George MacIntyre. Jenkins was 13-of-16 passing for 169 yards and a touchdown as Brentwood Academy (1-0) knocked off a Lawson team coached by former BA assistant Brian Lilly.
Steve Williams was 3-of-5 passing for 88 yards with a touchdown and an interception and Jaylan Hill had one catch for 80 yards and a touchdown for Lawson.
Brentwood 14, Smyrna 13: Parker Emerson had nine carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns and four catches for 39 yards for the Bruins (1-0). Lausanne transfer Gavin Strang was 10-of-21 passing for 79 yards with two interceptions and Cooper Mullins had two catches for 24 yards. Britten Judkins was 16-of-20 passing for 103 yards for Smyrna (0-1).
Columbia Academy 36, Fayetteville 25: Aiden Hunnicutt had 34 carries for 172 yards and two touchdowns in a win for Columbia Academy (1-0). Jacob Helms was 11-of-17 passing for 151 yards and two touchdowns and Jackson Usherwood caught six passes for 47 yards. Quasean Black had four carries for 63 yards and a touchdown for Fayetteville (0-1).
Cornersville 41, Loretto 28: Hunter Uland had 14 carries for 108 yards and a touchdown and Jackson Smith had 86 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries for Cornersville (1-0). Ben Lyles was 14-of-28 passing for 259 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions and Dillon Thompson had six catches for 185 yards and two touchdowns for Loretto (0-1).
DCA 49, Tipton-Rosemark 14: Nix Fullen had 24 carries for 158 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 105 yards and a touchdown for DCA. Jackson Posey was 6-of-16 passing for 119 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Wildcats.
East Robertson 35, Liberty Creek 28: Kason Young was 9-of-15 passing for 148 yards and a touchdown and had 10 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown to lead East Robertson. Zay’Vian Groves had six catches for 129 yards and a touchdown and Caleb McNeil had 23 carries for 145 yards and touchdown.
FRA 43, South Gibson 21: Mike Hassell, Hudson Holman and Jack Nimitz all threw a touchdown pass for FRA (1-0). Hassell was 1-of-1 for 47 yards and added 61 rushing yards on 10 carries. Kwadir Fletcher had seven carries for 41 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers.
Friendship Christian 34, Trousdale County 7: Jayden McGowan had 17 carries for 223 yards and four touchdowns for Friendship Christian. Blake Waldorf was 13-of-18 passing for 203 yards and an interception and had six carries for 48 yards and a touchdown and Bradyn Stringer had four catches for 85 yards.
Goodpasture 51, Glencliff 7: Chase Angell was 7-of-9 passing for 210 yards and a touchdown and had four carries for 34 yards and a touchdown for Goodpasture. Caden Stroud had 17 carries for 107 yards and three touchdowns and one catch for 26 yards and Andrew Perry had two catches for 81 yards.
Green Hill 38, Beech 21: Kannon Burroughs was 16-of-23 passing for 187 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown to lead Green Hill (1-0). Zachery Cartwright ran for 93 yards and two touchdowns and Luke Partin caught eight passes for 83 yards and a touchdown for the Hawks.
Independence 37, Rockvale 23: Matt Horner was 13-of-29 passing for 208 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Independence. Hendrix Harvey had four catches for 97 yards and a touchdown and Eli Garlington had nine carries for 37 yards and two touchdowns.
Kenwood 20, Hillsboro 6: Jonathan Fredericks was 13-of-23 passing for 139 yards and Donte Perry added 130 yards in 19 carries in a loss for Hillsboro (0-1). Jarvarion Bradford had five catches for 66 yards and Dondre Endsley had 60 yards on five catches for the Burros.
Lawrence County 35, Summertown 14: Demetrius Silva returned a kickoff 79 yards for a touchdown and Carter Pettigrew rushed for a touchdown in Lawrence County’s win. Max Dillard had 13 carries for 55 yards and Cainaan Klinghard had 12 carries for 50 yards for Summertown (0-1).
Lebanon 27, Nolensville 22: Ryan Newell was 15-of-21 passing for 204 yards and a touchdown in a loss for Nolensville. Oliver Bender had 124 yards and a touchdown on seven catches and Triston Lithmexay had 10 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown for the Knights.
Lincoln County 21, Marshall County 20: Tyler Thompson was 5-of-10 passing for 116 yards and had eight carries for 24 yards and two touchdowns for Marshall County (0-1). Tot Gardner added 75 yards on four catches for the Tigers.
MBA 17, Pearl-Cohn 14: Will Wade rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries and MBA (1-0) ran the clock out in the final minutes to hold on. MBA's Nik Dave had a 25-yard pick-six on Pearl-Cohn's first play. LJ Funk was 10-of-19 for 96 yards and a rushing touchdown for Pearl-Cohn (1-0), and Stephen Saulter caught four passes for 74 yards and a score.
McCallie 56, Lipscomb Academy 20: JC White was 28-of-51 passing for 364 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in a loss for Lipscomb Academy. Cam Blivens caught eight passes for 204 yards and a touchdown and Dante Fowler had 61 yards and a touchdown on three catches for the Mustangs.
MTCS 37, Ezell-Harding 20: Le’Marlo Nichols had eight carries for 57 yards and three touchdowns and was 3-of-5 passing for 80 yards and two touchdowns to lead MTCS. Alie Bangura had 16 carries for 122 yards and Malachi White caught two passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Julian Murdic was 10-of-25 passing for 161 yards and a touchdown and for Ezell-Harding.
Mt. Pleasant 41, Battle Creek 0: Kale Scott was 11-of-17 passing for 186 yards and two touchdowns and had four carries for 32 yards for Mt. Pleasant. Kayden McCrory had 12 carries for 118 yards and two touchdowns and Jaylen Easterling had two catches for 83 yards and a touchdown.
Nashville Christian 56, Davidson Academy 38: Jared Curtis was 14-of-16 passing for 247 yards with three touchdowns and an interception and had six carries for 44 yards and a touchdown in Nashville Christian’s win. TJ Ward had 11 carries for 194 yards and four touchdowns and Zane Crampton had three catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns.
Portland 36, White House 0: Keilen Dalton had 11 carries for 102 yards and three touchdowns to lead Portland. Isaac Hoke scored on a 13-yard run and Brogan High connected with Jesiah Scharklet on a 27-yard pass for a touchdown. Jaydn Schultz was 14-of-245 passing for 140 yards for White House.
Providence Christian 28, Eagleville 21: Thomas Solomon had 19 carries for 109 yards in a loss for Eagleville. Jonathan Jordan had seven carries for 100 yards and two touchdowns and had seven tackles for the Eagles.
Springfield 32, Rossview 6: Jaidon Hurst had 16 carries for 182 yards for Springfield. Preston Ramsey was 5-of-13 passing for 93 yards and two touchdowns and Lamarious Dowlen had 65 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Dawson Deer was 5-of-9 passing for 97 yards with a touchdown and an interception for Rossview.
Stewarts Creek 39, Centennial 36: Jamarcus Brown led Stewarts Creek with 258 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 36 carries. Kingston McQueen added 43 yards and a touchdown on five carries and Jerry Taylor was 2-of-6 passing for 57 yards.
Summit 13, Spring Hill 0: Jackson Krenke ran for 81 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries to lead Summit. Charles Williams added 35 yards on eight carries and Davis Smith had six carries for 31 yards. Lionel Brooks had 21 carries for 104 yards for Spring Hill.
Wayne County 16, Richland 14: Case Butler was 11-of-14 passing for 148 yards with a touchdown and an interception and had 12 carries for 10 yards for Wayne County. Daylan Van Fleet caught seven passes for 89 yards and a touchdown and Mason Moore had 13 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown.
