Borussia Dortmund were denied an opening Bundesliga win in a 3-3 thriller at St. Pauli.
Scorers: Hountondji 50', Sinani (PEN) 86', Smith 89'; Guirassy 34', Anton 67', Brandt 74'
Sent off: Mané
Serhou Guirassy broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 34th minute by meeting Marcel Sabitzer's inch-perfect cross to the far post with a bullet header.
The forward should have doubled their advantage just five minutes later from the penalty spot after Karim Adeyemi was hauled down but was denied by Nikola Vasilj
In the second half, the hosts levelled in near-identical fashion to how they conceded as Andreas Hountondji powered Daniel Sinani's delivery past Gregor Kobel.
The Black and Yellow reclaimed the upper hand on 67 minutes courtesy of Waldemar Anton's beguiling finish from the lefthand side of the penalty area.
Julian Brandt appeared to have assured victory as Pascal Groß's ball over the top found him on the lefthand side of the penalty area for a half-volleyed finish.
But Niko Kovač's side were undone in a frantic end at the Millerntor as they were reduced to ten men for Filippo Mané's foul in the penalty area.
Sinani converted from the spot before captain Eric Smith delivered a dramatic equaliser with one minute of normal time remaining from distance.
