Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius 2027 wide receiver Trey Haddad has been around the recruiting scene before. That’s because his older brother Cody was a 2025 recruit that signed with Ohio State.
Now it’s the younger brother’s time to shine. He picked up an offer from Texas A&M on Saturday and couldn’t have been happier.
“When they offered me I was extremely excited and I sat there and told myself that they wouldn’t regret their decision,” Haddad said.
“I have been in communication with them for a little while. The coach I’ve talked to the most is coach DJ Marquardt and their GM Derek Miller.”
Texas A&M is a school outside the region that has been making more of a push into the Midwest lately. The school has seen success plucking players from Big Ten country and Haddad has a high opinion of the program.
“I love the tradition and history of the school,” Haddad said. “I feel very honored to receive an offer from a school like A&M.”
Other than Texas A&M, Haddad counts West Virginia, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Boston College and Pitt as the schools recruiting him the hardest right now. West Virginia has also offered. The other schools are monitoring his early season game film before throwing their hats in the ring.
Haddad is unclear at this point which schools he’s going to visit. He’s still working through his schedule and making sure things line up the way he wants. But once he gets on campuses there will be a big factor in his recruitment.
“First and most importantly, I am looking for a high educational school that will set me up not only with football but in my everyday life,” Haddad said.
