Nick Allen gets a day off, as the mid-season addition gets a chance at short
Nick Allen is getting a rare day off, as Vidal Brujan will get a chance to play at shortstop. The former top prospect has over 300 innings under his belt at short, but probably isn’t best suited to play there for more than a spot start. Brujan’s bat has been anemic for his entire career, but he might be a better hitter than Allen, although Allen plays an elite defensive shortstop.
The Mets on the other side are starting eight of the same players from yesterday, with Tyrone Taylor replacing Cedric Mullins in centerfield.
Tonight’s game starts at 7:15 PM ET and can be watched in the normal spots. Check out more on the pitching matchup in the game preview here.
