Bad news for John Hunter Nemecheck and the 42 team late in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Rick Rozier Jr., the gas man for the 42 car fell out of the pit box and into the No. 88 pit box of Shane van Gisbergen with his gas can. That’s a penalty.

John Hunter Nemechek had managed to get his way to the front of the field with teammate Erik Jones. Then pit stops happened, and that’s where it got sketchy.

Rozier and his gas can fell into SVG’s pit box. Even though the 88 wasn’t there at the time, it was a penalty for removing equipment from the pit box. John Hunter Nemechek couldn’t do anything to change it.

Nemechek was livid. He was beside himself on the radio.

“What? You gotta be f***ing sh***ing me,” Nemechek said, via Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic.

This is a developing story…
