Jakobi Meyers has spent his past two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. However, as of this afternoon, his intention is to now leave Sin City.

Per Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero at the NFL Network, Meyers has requested a trade out of Las Vegas. That’s after being unable to agree on a new contract with the Raiders’ front office, with them currently having no intention of now trading him according to Rapoport.

“Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers recently met with team brass and requested to be traded, per me and @TomPelissero,” Rapoport tweeted this afternoon. “The team, citing his value, said they had no plans to do so. Meyers and the team attempted to negotiate a new contract, but could not come to terms.”

“Coming off a 1,000-yard season, Jakobi Meyers is due $10.76 million in the last year of his contract,” tweeted Pelissero. “With no extension coming in Las Vegas, he’d prefer to play elsewhere.”

Meyers is entering his seventh season in the NFL. After going undrafted out of NC State in 2019, New England signed him, with Meyers spending four seasons with the Patriots. He then signed with the Raiders in free agency on a three-year, $33 million deal, with him entering the final year of that contract this fall in Las Vegas.

Over his six-year career, Meyers has appeared in 91 games with 70 starts at receiver for the Patriots and Raiders. He has posted 393 receptions for 4,592 yards, averaging 50.5 per game and 11.7 per catch, and 20 touchdowns, being top-five in receiving on all of the teams in which he’s played for during that time. That includes twice being the Patriots’ leading receiver in 2020 and 2021. That also includes being the second-leading receiver in his time with the Raiders, posting 158 receptions for 1,834 yards and 12 touchdowns.
