The Miami Dolphins are signing veteran CB Rasul Douglas, who should immediately push to start.

MIAMI GARDENS – The Miami Dolphins are signing veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas, a league source confirmed.

The deal is for 1 year, $3 million.

Douglas, 30, should immediately begin competing with Storm Duck, Jack Jones and others to start at outside corner.

Miami has desperately needed to add a veteran cornerback and they waited out Douglas until it reached a comfortable price point.

Douglas has a reputation as a ball hawk with instincts, awareness as well as physicality.

Douglas has taken too many penalties at times in his career and can be susceptible to deep speed.

Last season, Douglas took six penalties and allowed four touchdowns with a passer rating allowed of 122.0, according to Pro Football Reference.
