It's August, which means the NBA is on a collective vacation. It's the slowest part of the year with zero news for two months. Training camp kicks off in a little over a month. Before you know it, the 2025-26 regular season will start as the gravy train moves along.

The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to enjoy their NBA championship. They had one of the greatest seasons ever with a 68-14 regular-season record and brought home the Larry O'Brien trophy. It's been a quiet offseason as they will run it back with mostly the same roster.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren all signed contract extensions this past offseason to keep them in OKC for the foreseeable future. To reflect on their championship run and look forward to their repeat chances, Thunder Wire conducted a 16-question fan survey.

A total of 617 Thunder fans participated in the survey. One of the questions was about the Thunder's win total for the 2025-26 regular season. They've had back-to-back years of being the first seed with dramatic record improvements.

After a 68-win season last year, most Thunder fans expect a 60-plus win year. 80.6% of 614 voters think OKC will win between 61-70 games. That would be quite the win total to get to, as 60-win campaigns are as rare as they get in the NBA.

If the Thunder can remain healthy, it's a feasible goal. They flirted with 70 wins last season despite juggling injuries and being without Holmgren for most of the year with a hip fracture. That said, though, perhaps the NBA champions have reached a point where the regular season doesn't mean as much and would rather enter the playoffs healthy.

In that case, the Thunder could take their foot off the gas a little bit in the regular season. While their record likely wouldn't be as strong as last season, there's a possibility they look even more playoff-ready by keeping players fresh and ready for another lengthy postseason quest.
