Yesterday, we dropped our predictions for the most likely results of the 2025 football season. Today, we get into best case, which, oh boy, do we have some best case scenarios that we have never typed before as Georgia Tech folks. Let us know what you think in the comments!
Jack: Remember how we used to say best case was 12-0 but we never actually meant it. Well, at least for me, I do now. There’s paths to beating georgia. There’s paths to beating Clemson. Outside of those two games, we should be favored in the other 10 games we play. If we stay healthy and keep our heads down, a perfect regular season is not impossible. It’s not likely and the odds are super slim, but the path is actually there.
Now, if we’re 12-0, that means we’re in the ACC Championship game. At that point, we’d be favored. At that point, we’d have a top-4 seed in the College Football Playoff. I’m not willing to say we’d win our quarterfinal game, but in the world of something remotely possible, that’s the best case I can see.
Chris: While I generally agree with Jack that there are paths to winning every game on the schedule, I still don’t trust the team enough to say more than 11 wins. As I said above, we play 10 teams that are currently unranked – I think we’re capable of winning all of them. That just leaves catching one of either Clemson or UGA, another thing we’ve proven that we can do (though I think getting both is a bit too far). Give me 11-1, an ACC Championship appearance, and a first round Playoff appearance.
Logan: So the best case is always that we win all our games, which is certainly possible, but I want to factor in some likelihoods for the ACC. I think we will drop one game to an unexpected team and drop one game to a talented team. In the best case scenario we lose our opener to Colorado due to how weird the environment is then we go on a winning streak and beat Clemson. We drop one game to a unexpected team, likely to BC due to the travel factor, but win out the rest of the season. This places us in the ACC championship with one loss and we beat Miami again as we are the bane of the Cane’s existence currently. So we are 11-2 and get a lower playoff spot. I don’t think we’re good enough to win the championship so let’s say we win one game and then drop our next one. That puts us at 12-3 on the season which is a pretty darn good season in my book.
