AC Milan are reportedly lining up a bid for Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku in the final days of the summer transfer window.
The France international is looking to secure an exit from Stamford Bridge after failing to make an impact in the Premier League.
Nkunku, who made just nine starts in the top flight last season, has been linked with Aston Villa, Bayern Munich and a possible return to RB Leipzig.

Milan are hoping to beat them all to the punch, with Fabrizio Romano first reporting that they had made “contact to explore a deal” for the player.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has provided more details on the possible move, claiming that the Italian outfit has “nearly reached” a contractual agreement with Nkunku.
The Rossoneri are said to be “preparing” a transfer bid between €30-40 million. If the deal comes off, the 27-year-old will sign a contract until 2030.

Villa and Leipzig are not out of the race just yet, however, as both clubs “want to propose a permanent transfer”. Inter Milan have also been linked with a move.
Bayern Munich were hoping to sign Nkunku on loan, but Chelsea are only interested in a permanent deal. A loan offer with an obligation to buy from the Bundesliga champions was turned down by the Blues.
The German giants, however, are still “pushing” for a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson, according to Romano. Chelsea “want to wait” until Alexander Isak’s future is settled before deciding on the “best option” for the striker, suggesting they are hoping a better deal will come close to Monday’s deadline.
