You can just picture this.

Caleb Williams is doing everything he can to prepare for his second year as quarterback of the Chicago Bears.

Even more preparation is required because he's got a new offense to play in, led by new head coach Ben Johnson from the Detroit Lions.

And because of that, Williams isn't letting any seconds go to waste. He's prepping even in his car.

Williams told ESPN's Courtney Cronin that he "listens to voice recordings of his playcalls at the line of scrimmage and yells out his cadence while driving in his car to get more comfortable with using his vocal inflection as a weapon."

Honestly, sounds pretty smart.

Williams had a solid rookie season, and he's expected to take another leap in his second campaign. That's how expectations work for QBs, especially a guy who was the No. 1 overall pick in 2024.

The No. 2 pick, Jayden Daniels, took the league more by storm and won Rookie of the Year.

But with Johnson now in town, the Bears are expected to take a big leap forward offensively.

Williams is at the forefront of that, so any way he can be more prepared is a good thing.

He's a fan of Johnson's approach, he told Cronin.

"Everything he speaks, if you don't understand, he's patient," Williams said. "If you don't understand, he'll find a way to help you understand."

The Bears have never had a 4,000-yard passer.

Williams has a good chance to be the first as part of Johnson's potentially potent offense this season.
