We are inching our way closer to Saturday. And Oregon fans are having a tough time holding it together these last few days.

But we have two more roundtables to offer up before the game. In this one we will make our predictions for the offensive and defensive MVP’s in Saturday’s game. There’s a pretty wide array of names below.

Let me know who you got.

Brandon Gibson

OFF: I think that Kenyon Sadiq is going to terrorize the Bobcat defense in week one. There are a number of questions involving new talent in the Montana State secondary and the Bobcats just don’t have the ability to prepare for someone like Sadiq. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Sadiq go over 100 yards with a touchdown or two.

DEF: I think Bryce Boettcher has a difference making day against the Bobcat rushing game. His added experience and ability to attack the gaps will allow him to make some big plays, with the help of his defensive line. Boettcher led the Ducks with 94 tackles in 2024, which included 50 solo tackles.

Ted Leroux

OFF: Montana State is breaking in an entirely new secondary, which sets the stage for Oregon’s passing game to shine in the season opener. We won’t have to wait long to see Dakorien Moore flash his elite downfield ability, and I expect the “Moore-to-Moore” connection to hit early and often at Autzen. For that reason, Dakorien is my pick for offensive MVP.

DEF: Oregon’s linebackers should have plenty of chances to make plays against a run-heavy Bobcat attack. Bryce Boettcher, now fully committed to football, looks poised to take the next step. I see him setting the tone with a double-digit tackle performance and keeping the MSU ground game from breaking off explosive plays — earning my nod as defensive MVP.

Corpatty:

OFF:Dakorien Moore wastes no time making his mark, surpassing 100 yards and a touchdown in his debut performance.

DEF: Another debut Duck, Dillon Thieneman announces himself with an interception and a disruptive all-around performance. Look for him to quickly emerge as a leader of Oregon’s defense.

Max Torres:

OFF: I expect Noah Whittington to take the first carry of the season for the Ducks. He should get plenty of touches this weekend and he’s on a mission this year as he looks to close out his college career with a bang. I see him getting over 100 all-purpose yards and finding paydirt at least once, maybe twice.

DEF: A’Mauri Washington has gotten the most hype of any of Oregon’s defensive linemen this offseason. I believe he’ll show why he’s been so heavily discussed with a dominant performance, making an impact stopping the run and getting after Justin Lamson when he drops back to pass. Washington is primed for a big year and the MSU offensive line could be in for a long day.

Jhop:

OFF: Give me Dierre Hill in this one. I think the freshman is going to get plenty of run on Saturday. I believe Oregon will lean heavily on the run game but won’t run Noah or Makhi quite as much. Hill will get lots of carries and will also have a shot against reserves to put up some big numbers.

DEF: Expecting Oregon to rotate often, I think we’ll all be pleasantly surprised at what Jerry Mixon brings to the table as a linebacker. He’ll lead the team in tackles on Saturday and make several big plays along the way.
