Media got a chance to talk to Missouri coach Eliah Drinkwitz, quarterback Beau Pribula, receiver Marquis Johnson, defensive end Damon Wilson and linebacker Josiah Trotter after the Tigers opened the season with a big win against Central Arkansas.
Here are the full videos of all five press conferences.
Eliah Drinkwitz
“Proud of our football team, thought they fought well tonight, thought they competed hard,” Drinkwitz said.
“Very disappointed and said with the injury to Sam (Horn) and the injury to Blake Craig. We’ll see tomorrow what the extent of those injuries are,” Drinkwitz said.
“I thought it was a little bit leaky in the first half, I didn’t feel like we were dominating,” Drinkwitz said of the defense. “Until I got into halftime and realized they were 0-for-6 on third down and I realized my expectations might have been a little too high.”
Beau Pribula
“Coverage was pretty good downfield, just dancing around in the pocket a little bit trying to find a little outlet. But they did a good job, like I said, in coverage. The field kind of split open, had to give a little pump fake to get by, I think it was No. 8, the one defender. After that it was just, run for a touchdown,” Pribula said of his long touchdown run.
“I think the buildup of this week, it’s something that I’ve been waiting for for a long time. Just an opportunity like this. Just extremely excited,” Pribula said.
Marquis Johnson
“This was for my mom. Everything today was for my mom,” Johnson said.
“Knowing that she wasn’t at the bottom of that Tiger Walk. Knowing that she wasn’t, just, there … that really broke me down. … That’s when it really all hit me,” Johnson said.
Damon Wilson
“You don’t really expect them to take many shots, trying not to get the quarterback injured early. Wasn’t really thinking about getting sacks, just doing my job,” Wilson said.
Josiah Trotter
“I feel like overall, especially as a defense, we did a great job,” Trotter said.
