Liverpool have budged from their initial position, and are now open to a loan deal.
Liverpool FC defender Kostas Tsimikas is now nearing a loan move to AS Roma. The club had preferred a permanent transfer, but with the transfer window closing on Monday, it seems that Liverpool have relented and opened the door for Tsimikas to leave on a loan move.
Fabrizio Romano had this to say:
“It has been a very positive day in negotiations between Kostas Tsimikas and Roma, as for the first time Liverpool are open to a loan with option to buy, or even a dry loan. Liverpool have informed AS Roma tonight about Kostas Tsimikas now available on straight loan. Roma are considering whether to proceed and get deal done as they wanted a buy option clause. Tsimikas, pushing a lot as he wants Roma.”
He’s 29, and certainly deserves more playing time than whatever scraps will be available below Milos Kerkez and Andy Robertson. He was always dependable when called upon, a great source of laughs around the squad, and won us a cup final with a well-taken penalty. All the best in Rome, Kostas.
