Draymond Green reacts to the Micah Parsons trade

The veteran Warriors big man was just as shocked as we were

Earlier this week, Dallas Cowboys General Manager Jerry Jones traded star defensive end Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for a return of defensive tackle Kenny Clark and the Packers’ next two first-round picks. Sports-savvy fans have called it the NFL equivalent to the Luka Dončić trade earlier this year, in which the Dallas Mavericks unexpectedly traded superstar guard Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a first-round pick.

Warriors veteran big man Draymond Green was among the shocked fans when the Parsons trade was announced on August 28th.

“Wow!!!” Green said in a tweet. “Jerry didn’t want to pay the money! Good Bag Micah 😤😤😤😤.”

Green posted this tweet just half an hour after the trade broke on Thursday afternoon.

Interestingly, though the 35-year-old forward and podcast host is very online, he didn’t react to the Luka trade at all when it dropped in February. This might be because Green thinks of himself as a bigger football fan than a basketball fan, per a quote from his appearance on a 2021 Manningcast with Peyton and Eli Manning.

“I’ve loved football since I was a kid,” Green said in 2021. “I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan and growing up in Saginaw in the snow we would put on two, three pairs of pants, two, three pairs of socks, two coats, and we would go outside and play in the middle of the streets in the snow. Football for me, to this day, I enjoy watching football more than I enjoy watching basketball. It’s incredible.”
