They’re all large, dummy
Tomorrow begins the final month of the season, the sprint that ends the marathon. We’ve been on a daily fix watching the Phillies ply their trade trying to get into the postseason, but this final month will be the deciding factor where we discover if they can get there and what seed they might be. In this final month, there are several large series that will test their mettle, each with varying degrees of importance.
The question for today: which one is the most important? The choices are:
- This week’s foray into Milwaukee that will help determine the seeding for a few teams
- The upcoming battle with the Mets that will probably determine which team will be the NL East champion, one way or another
- The later duel with the Dodgers that might take on even more importance depending on the results of the weeks prior.
- The final series against the Twins, where the Phillies might already know their fate.
It’s why baseball is so much fun. Each of these has their own bit of importance to them.
