How former NC State players did in first weekend

Thirty-two former NC State players had their teams kick-start the 2025 season, another three have upcoming first games.

Thirty-two former NC State players had their teams kick-start the 2025 season, and another three have upcoming first games.

Here’s a look at how the former NC State signees did since games started last Thursday. Former linebacker Kamal Bonner at Miami (Fla.) and ex-cornerback Brandon Cisse at South Carolina will get updated in the near future.

Class of 2020

Porter Rooks, WR, Eastern Michigan: He caught three passes for 13 yards in a 52-27 loss at Texas State.

Jayland Parker, LB, Marshall: He had one tackle in a 45-7 loss at Georgia.

Ben Finley, QB, Akron: He went 16-of-38 passing for 139 yards and an interception, plus six carries for minus-four yards in a 10-0 loss vs. Wyoming.

Anthony Smith, WR, East Carolina: He had six catches for 66 yards in the 24-17 loss at NC State.

Devan Boykin, S, Indiana: He had one tackle in a 27-14 win over Old Dominion.

Joshua Pierre-Louis, S, Marshall: The junior college transfer started and had one tackle in a 45-7 loss at Georgia.

Claude Larkins, DE, Keiser University: Keiser topped Indiana Wesleyan 38-31.

Joshua Crabtree, WR, North Carolina Central: Crabtree, who was at Murray State last year, played one snap in North Carolina Central’s 27-10 loss against New Hampshire.

Patrick Matan, OL, Montana: First game is Sept. 6 at Central Washington.

Ian Williams, K/P, Furman: He made three field goals with a long of 50 and two extra points, and also punted five times for an average of 46.6 yards and a long of 61 in a 23-21 win over William & Mary.

Class of 2021

Jordan Poole, RB, Nicholls State: He had four carries for eight yards in a 38-20 loss at Troy.

Julian Gray, RB, Liberty: He rushed six times for 39 yards, had three catches for 14 yards and returned two kickoffs for 55 yards in a 28-7 win over Maine.

Nate Evans, DB, Delaware: He had one tackle in a 35-17 win over Delaware State.

Jaleel Davis, OL, Florida International: Davis started at center and FIU topped Bethune-Cookman 42-9.

Jakolbe Baldwin, WR, Marshall: He started and caught one pass for six yards in a 45-7 loss at Georgia.

Lyndon Cooper, C, Pittsburgh: He started at center and the Panthers won 61-9 over Duquesne.

Class of 2022

Michael Allen, RB, Marshall: He rushed two times for five yards and had a tackle in a 45-7 loss at Georgia.

Daejuan Thompson, OLB, Gardner-Webb: He didn’t play but the Bulldogs won 52-45 at Western Carolina.

M.J. Morris, QB, Coastal Carolina: He went 20-of-36 passing for 163 yards and an interceptions, and rushed six times for 15 yards in a 48-7 loss at Virginia.

Nick Campbell, NT, Appalachian State: He had one tackle in a 34-11 win over Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium.

Terrell Timmons, WR, Colorado: He did not play and the Buffaloes 27-20 lost to Georgia Tech.

Davin Jackson, NT, Liberty: He had one tackle in a 28-7 win over Maine.

Class of 2023

Bishop Fitzgerald, FS, USC: He has four tackles, one interception he returned 39 yards for a touchdown, half a tackle for loss and one pass defended in a 73-13 win over Missouri State.

Red Hibbler, DE, Mississippi State: He had one tackle in a 34-17 win at Southern Mississippi.

Javonte Vereen, TE, Connecticut: He caught two passes for 38 yards in a 59-13 win over Central Connecticut.

Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina: He plays Virginia Tech today.

Kendrick Raphael, RB, California: He had nine carries for 37 yards in 34-15 win at Oregon State.

Kevin Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M: He caught three passes for 72 yards and a 31-yard touchdown, and returned two punts for 94 yards and a 80-yard touchdown in a 42-24 win over Texas-San Antonio.

Kamal Bonner, OLB, Miami (Fla.): He plays Notre Dame today.

Obadiah Obasuyi, OL, Georgia State: He played 13 snaps at left tackle and Georgia State loss 63-7 against Mississippi.

Dacari Collins, WR, Louisville: He had two catches for 21 yards in a 51-17 win over Eastern Kentucky.

Class of 2024

Cannon Lewis, LB, Marshall: He started and had four tackles in a 45-7 loss at Georgia.

Robby Martin, C, West Virginia: He played six snaps at center and the Mountaineers defeated Robert Morris 45-3.

Wyatt Wright, LB, Alabama A&M: He had seven tackles and two sacks in a 52-7 loss at Arkansas.

Tamarcus Cooley, DB, LSU: Cooley had seven tackles in LSU’s 17-10 win at Clemson.
