TYLER, Texas (KETK) — The Texas College Steers football team jumped out to an early 7-0 lead but ultimately fell, 35-28, to the Langston University Lions Saturday night at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
Kendrick Lee’s pick six gave the Steers a 7-0 advantage in the first quarter but Langston outscored Texas College 21-0 in the second quarter to carry a 21-7 lead into halftime.
The Steers cut it to a seven-point game late but that was as close as they’d get, as Texas College falls to 0-4 this season after the loss to Langston (1-3).
Texas College will look to get in the win column when the Steers hit the road to face Wayland Baptist Saturday, September 27.
Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. CDT at Greg Sherwood Memorial Bulldog Stadium in Plainview.
