EDMOND, Ok. (KSNT) – Washburn football drops to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in MIAA play following tonight’s 34-28 loss to Central Oklahoma.

The Ichabods would open up the scoring with an 8-yard pass from Justin Lewis to Chase Allen-Jackman to make it 7-0 Washburn.

The Bronchos would respond on the following drive with a 20-yard rush to tie things up.

After a quick three and out for the ‘Bods, UCO would take its first lead of the night with a 52-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-7.

Late in the first it’s Keller Hurla with a 1-yard rush to make things even again, 14-14.

Things were quiet until late in the second, when UCO completed a 7-yard pass to extend its lead. A 45-yard field goal made it 24-14 at the half.

Hurla had a second 1-yard rush in the third to get the ‘Bods back within striking distance, 24-21 UCO.

A few drives later, Hurla would complete a 85-yard touchdown pass to Allen-Jackman to help Washburn retake the lead, 28-24.

The Bronchos would respond immediately with a 3-yard rushing touchdown to take the lead, 31-28.

A 51-yard field goal from Central Oklahoma would be the only scoring play made in the fourth quarter and the Bronchos would secure the win, 34-28.

The Ichabods will take on the University of Nebraska-Kearney next Saturday at home at 1 p.m.
