A lucky break?
According to a report from Tz’s Philipp Kessler (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae avoided a serious injury, but will have his workload monitored in the coming days due a calf issue:
Kim Min-jae did not suffer a serious injury. Tests have ‘only’ revealed a stress reaction of the calf muscles. Workload management in the coming days.
That is relief for Kim, who spent almost all of last season battling Achilles tendonitis. Hopefully, this latest ailment heals quickly as the South Korean center-back had a strong game during Bayern Munich’s 4-1 victory over Hoffenheim on Saturday.
When Bayern Munich traveled to Sinsheim on a short week after taking down Chelsea FC in the Champions League, it was never going to be easy.
Hoffenheim is well-coached, motivated, and playing with a real fire. For a weary Bayern Munich side, that meant trouble, but Vincent Kompany heavily rotated his men and while it was not always dominant or even pretty, the Bavarians showed their grit once again in a 4-1 win.
