We break down the fantasy football outlook of Bo Nix ahead of Week 3
The Denver Broncos are 1-1 after facing the Titans and Colts through two weeks. There have been some good things offensively from Denver, but overall there is room for improvement. Pro Football Focus currently has Nix graded as the worst quarterback in the league. He did toss three touchdowns in the first half of last week’s game, so there is fantasy production. And he helped unlock Troy Franklin for the first time last week while Patrick Surtain held Courtand Sutton down. One thing he hasn’t done yet for fantasy is put up useful rushing stats, which was helpful to his fantasy upside last season.
Below, we’ll go over Bo Nix’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 3.
Fantasy Football analysis: Broncos, QB, Bo Nix
Nix will face a Chargers defense that has been good against the pass so far. They currently rank third-best in EPA allowed per pass attempt. A rushing touchdown by Patrick Mahomes has hurt their fantasy points allowed to QBs in such a small sample size, but they rank fifth-best in completion percentage allowed, second-best in yards per attempt, and they just picked off Geno Smith three times while not allowing him one touchdown.
Start or sit in Week 3?
Sit. Nix is right on the edge of the start/sit line in my Week 3 rankings, as he has good upside if he can get his legs moving. Patrick Mahomes rushed for a touchdown against the Chargers in Week 1 and I’d expect Nix to try to get going on the ground a bit more this week, but we can’t rely on it and this matchup isn’t good.
