Chelsea will lock horns with Lincoln City at LNER Stadium on Tuesday night as they look to secure a win in the EFL Cup. The Blues suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss away at Manchester United recently, so they would be eager to return to winning ways in midweek.

Enzo Maresca will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a whole host of changes to his first team for this game. Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato could all play from the start of this cup game.

Defence

Filip Jorgensen will feature in between the sticks for the Blues after shipping in two goals in his last outing. Tosin Adarabioyo will probably get the nod to operate alongside Trevoh Chalobah at the centre of the Chelsea backline as they look to keep a good shape on the defensive end of the field.

Malo Gusto will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Jorrel Hato hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Andrey Santos will anchor the midfield along with Enzo Fernandez as they focus on establishing their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Jamie Gittens, Estevao and Alejandro Garnacho will play just ahead of them as part of Maresca’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Blues are to earn a dominant win this Tuesday night.

Pedro Neto will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Marc Guiu will lead the line for the West London club up top. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet in midweek.

Tyrique George will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if Chelsea are in need of a goal.
