Michael Olise is a cool customer. But don’t mistake that — or his ice-cold finishes for Bayern Munich — for coldness.
“You might think he’s very reserved,” Bayern center-back Dayot Upamecano said of his club and French national team teammate in comments captured by Sport Bild, via @iMiaSanMia. “But in the dressing room, he’s more open — he talks and laughs with everyone. He’s a friend of mine. I’m happy to be playing with him at Bayern. He’s an incredible player.”
Olise is off to another fast start this season at Bayern. After 12 goals and 15 assists in the league last year, he already has three and one, respectively, in the first four games. And that’s after not starting against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday, a reprieve after the Champions League fixture midweek.
When Bayern Munich traveled to Sinsheim on a short week after taking down Chelsea FC in the Champions League, it was never going to be easy.
Hoffenheim is well-coached, motivated, and playing with a real fire. For a weary Bayern Munich side, that meant trouble, but Vincent Kompany heavily rotated his men and while it was not always dominant or even pretty, the Bavarians showed their grit once again in a 4-1 win.
Let’s get into all of the details right here on the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
