Barcelona star suffers injury blow late in Getafe clash

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona set alarm bells sounding in the aftermath of the club’s latest outing.

The player in question? Fermín López.

Barcelona of course marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Getafe to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done on a dominant evening for Hansi Flick’s troops, they emerged on the right side of a 3-0 result.

The aforementioned Fermín was for his part introduced to proceedings off the bench during the 2nd-half of proceedings, and went on to enjoy a fine showing.

As alluded to above, however, upon the full-time whistle bringing a close to the action at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, the 22-year-old sparked widespread concern.

As much came after Fermín went to ground clutching his groin, in evident distress.

After being tended to by the hosts’ medical team, the Spanish international limped from the field of play looking far from comfortable.

An update on his wellbeing is expected in short order.
