Najee Harris’ season is very likely over.

The Los Angeles Chargers running back left their contest with the Denver Broncos with an apparent non-contact Achilles injury on Sunday afternoon at SoFi Stadium. Harris took a few steps in the backfield at the start of a play in the second quarter when his left ankle just gave out as he planted. Harris didn’t make contact with anybody, and nobody was around him when he went down.

He was clearly in a lot of pain when he hit the field, and he was seen pounding the turf repeatedly after the play ended as the team’s medical staff came out to help him. Harris was eventually carted off the field.

While specifics are not yet known, it's feared to be an Achilles injury. That would end his season.

Harris had six carries for 28 yards in the game when he went down.
