Travis Kelce stats: Chiefs tight end argues with Andy Reid amid slow start vs. Giants originally appeared on The Sporting News
Travis Kelce's slow start to the season has been one of several storylines for the Kansas City Chiefs, who began the year 0-2 for the first time in over a decade.
The veteran tight end had just 108 yards on the season entering Week 3's contest against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. Kelce's production is notable considering his age and that there have been rumors of retirement at the end of the year.
For now, though, Kelce and the Chiefs have to figure out a way to turn their season around, and it starts with understanding Kelce's role on this team. Here is how he's performed so far in Week 3.

- Receptions: 3
- Yards: 13
- Yards per catch: 4.3

Kelce's struggles continued in the first half against the Giants, as he totaled just two catches for four yards in 30 minutes. That included a pair of missed connections with Patrick Mahomes, as the duo hasn't been able to get on the same page so far this year.
How old is Travis Kelce?
Kelce will turn 36 years-old during the first week of October as he plays in his 13th season in the NFL. He is the oldest player on the team and one of only four Kansas City players who are at least 30 years-old.

This isn't the first time that Reid and Kelce have gotten into an argument on the sidelines, as they notably had a similar incident in Super Bowl 58 vs. the San Francisco 49ers.

The incident is a snapshot of the Chiefs' season so far, which has been as slow as it's ever been in Andy Reid's tenure. This is the first time since 2014 that Kansas City started 0-2 during a season, which also happened to be Kelce's second season in the league.
