Los Angeles Chargers: Top takeaways from Week 3 win over Broncos originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Los Angeles Chargers have faced three AFC West teams to start the season and they have taken care of business against each of them.
It is the first time in 23 years that the Chargers have started a season 3-0 and at least as of right now, they should be looked at as a strong favorite to win the division. Though there is a long season still ahead, the team couldn't have asked for a better start.
The Chargers' victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday did not come easy, but when the clock struck zero, they had more points on the scoreboard and sometimes, that's all that matters. Here are some of the top takeaways from this one.

Chargers are winning in multiple ways
Perhaps the thing for Chargers fans to be most excited about is the way they are winning games. Whether it be in Brazil by outscoring the defending AFC champions, or winning a slugfest on Monday night against the Raiders, or having to pull out a win late in a game they were probably outplayed in on Sunday, the Chargers are finding ways to win, and that's generally the mark of a really good team.
Oronde Gadsden looks good
There was plenty of hype coming out of training camp this summer that the Chargers may have found something with fifth-round pick Oronde Gadsden.
On Sunday, the tight end made his NFL debut and caught five passes for 46 yards. Justin Herbert looked his way with confidence, including in the late stages of the game. This could be huge for this offense.
Chargers will be OK without Najee Harris
It was tough to see Najee Harris go down with what appears to be an Achilles injury, one that would almost certainly be season-ending. But the Chargers went all summer without him following an accident with fireworks on the Fourth of July.
The signing was always a strange one, but the team brought Harris in due to his availability. He had never missed a game in his career. Since coming to L.A., he's been quite unavailable.
Bringing back Keenan Allen was a great move
The Chargers brought Keenan Allen back onto their roster after a year away this offseason and that move, which should have happened far sooner than it did, has paid off in a big way.
Allen still displays fantastic chemistry with Herbert and that combination is going to be a key in the Chargers' push towards the playoffs this season. So far this season, Allen has 19 receptions for 194 yards and he has a touchdown catch in each of the team's three games.
