The Dallas Cowboys' defense is the worst in the NFL, and after their showing in the 31-14 Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, ESPN NFL analyst Rex Ryan is calling them out.

Dallas are at the bottom of the league in passing yards allowed (864), second-worst in passing touchdowns allowed (7), sixth-worst in sacks (4), second-worst in yards per catch allowed (13.2), and the worst team in third down conversions allowed with opposing teams converting 53.7 percent of their third down plays, per Pro Football Reference.

The Cowboys are in the bottom five in points allowed (30.7), per Stat Muse. Moreover, 53.3 percent of the opposing teams' drives against Dallas will end up in a scoring drive, which is third-worst behind the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.

Rex Ryan sounds off on Cowboys' defense

On Monday's edition of "Get Up," Ryan, who was a defensive coordinator, went off on what he's seen from the Cowboys' defense and their inability to make any changes through three weeks.

"Just when we thought it couldn't get worse, this defense comes up with even a worse performance," Ryan said. "As I call them, Doomsday Defense, man, the history of the Cowboys. Oh, my goodness. I see Bob Lilly. I see them all out there—Randy White, all of them.

"This one, I think we have a new name for it. What did I call it yesterday? Dumbsday Defense. Dumbsday. Why? Because they play so dumb. It's unbelievable. They have no concept. They don't have zone coverage anymore. That's a hell of a coverage right there. They play with 10? I don't know. But this defense is absolutely coverage."

Moreover, Ryan believes that opposing NFL teams know how bad the Cowboys' defense is and are just going at them to see if Dallas can stop their offense.

"They're getting punked," Ryan added. "They're getting the ball thrown all over. They're getting the ball thrown over. They're ahead. They can't play anything right now. Where do you start? Where do you start? You got to stand for something. Hey, I got an idea. I don't know, it's crazy. A new concept. They're running 11 straight. Maybe we got to blitz somebody off an edge to try to get in the backfield. I don't know, it's crazy.

"Let's play our zone. Let's play our zone because we're so smart. No, you're so dumb. You're so dumb. I can't stand it. Do something. I don't want to hear about it. You can't rush the passer. Then how about we sit more players at the quarterback? We can't play zone coverage. How about we play man coverage? You guys stink. Dumbsday Defense."
