It’s time to head overseas
The Minnesota Vikings are set to head over to Europe for their two-game swing through the British Isles, and as they make their way across the pond they’re currently expected to keep their streak of dominance in overseas games alive.
The folks at the FanDuel Sportsbook have installed the Vikings as an early 2.5-point favorite over the Pittsburgh Steelers for Sunday’s first-ever NFL game in Dublin, Ireland. The over/under for the contest is currently sitting at 42.5 points.
The Vikings have never lost a game outside of the United States, whether regular season or exhibition. The two games they’ll play in Europe over the next two weeks will mark their third and fourth games across the Atlantic in the past four seasons. They defeated the New Orleans Saints in London in 2022 and took down the New York Jets in London last season.
In that victory over the Jets last season, they faced the quarterback that they’ll be facing this year against Pittsburgh, as old nemesis Aaron Rodgers is now wearing the black and gold. The Steelers, like the Vikings, have gone 2-1 in their first three contests, following the same pattern as the Vikings have: win your opener (against the Jets), lose in Week 2 (to the Seattle Seahawks), and pick up a win in Week 3 (over the New England Patriots).
This will be the first game the NFL has played at Dublin’s Croke Park, which is the fourth-largest stadium in Europe. This is not the first time American football has been played at this venue, however, as it hosted a college football game in 2014 between the Penn State Nittany Lions and the University of Central Florida Golden Knights.
What do you think of the early line, folks? Should the Vikings be the favorite in what is, at least in terms of the schedule, a home game for the Steelers? Let us know what you think!
