With less than 90 minutes remaining before kickoff, the Baltimore Ravens have announced their official inactives for their Week 3 matchup against the Detroit Lions:

  • FB Patrick Ricard (calf)
  • TE Isaiah Likely (foot)
  • DE Nnamdi Madubuike (neck)
  • OLB Kyle Van Noy (hamstring)
  • RB Keaton Mitchell
  • CB Jaire Alexander
  • OT Carson Vinson

For the second straight week, cornerback Jaire Alexander is a healthy scratch. Alexander struggled in Week 1 after missing extensive practice time late in the summer. Since then, head coach John Harbaugh has openly said the Ravens would be managing his playing time, but that the team expects his role to increase in the near future.

Joining Alexander again on the list of healthy scratches is offensive tackle Carson Vinson and running back Keaton Mitchell. Mitchell was a surprise inactive in the season opener but has now been scratched in three consecutive weeks, with Rasheen Ali instead taking on the role of No. 3 running back and key special teamer.

Many believed Likely would make his season debut tonight, but the Ravens will instead hold him out for at least one more week. Ricard also has yet to make his debut as he continues to nurse a calf injury that has held him out of action for over a month now.

Two big additions to the injury list earlier this week were Van Noy and Madubuike. Both players are expected to miss multiple games, which is a big blow to the Ravens’ defensive front and pass rush. The Ravens activated veteran defensive lineman Brent Urban from the practice squad and edge rusher David Ojabo was promoted from the inactive list as well.
