When the Green Bay Packers take on the Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football", a high-profile feud will be at the forefront.

As two of the NFL's most preeminent franchises, the Cowboys and Packers are eternal rivals. Their quarrel was forged by history. But it continues to evolve, shaped by the sights and sounds of the present day.

No event has proved more consequential to the matchup's recent intensity than Micah Parsons' arrival. The Green Bay star was once one of Dallas' most recognizable faces. But his contract dispute with his former employers led the Cowboys to send him to Lambeau in exchange for Kenny Clark and a pair of first-round picks.

With the Packers traveling to AT&T Stadium to take on Dallas on Sunday, fans have understandably wondered whether a video tribute could be on the cards for Parsons, one of the franchise's greatest-ever pass-rushers.

Here's the latest on whether Parsons will see his career highlights roll across AT&T Stadium's Jumbotron on Sunday night.

Parsons garnered plenty of accolades during his four-year tenure in Dallas. A four-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro first team selection and the 2021 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year winner, Parsons finished his Cowboys career with 52.5 sacks, the seventh-highest total in franchise history.

That wasn't enough to land him some pre-game recognition before Sunday's game, though. Dallas isn't planning on honoring Parsons during their game, Jones told reporters on Monday.

"It's not appropriate", Jones said, via The Athletic's Jon Machota. "That’s not to diminish Micah. I think Micah’s got enough welcome out there. We just need to show we’ve got anecdotes for that.”

Jones' sentiments aren't exactly unknown. The notorious owner -- and his son, Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones -- made their thoughts on Parsons' contract demands known throughout training camp and preseason.

"We want to pay Micah, too. He’s gotta want to be paid," Stephen Jones said, per Machota.

Jerry Jones was similarly dismissive of Parsons' search for fair pay. He took aim at Parsons' durability, expressing doubt over his ability to stay healthy, likening him to Dallas hurler Dak Prescott.

"Just because we sign him doesn’t mean we’re going to have him," Jones said. "He was hurt six games last year. Seriously. I remember signing a player for the highest-paid at the position in the league, and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year -- Dak Prescott.

"So, there’s a lot of things you can think about, just as the player does, when you’re thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.”

Video tributes are all the rage in the world of sports. There has been a growing prevalence of videos directed at former players upon their departure, some of which have come despite players playing for precious few seasons.

Four years is plenty to erect a legacy. But Jones is of a different generation. He already leveled critiques towards his former pupil while he was in Dallas' colors. Those concerns don't seem to have evaporated in the weeks since Parsons made his exit, either.
