The Tennessee high school football season is now officially passing the midway point, with plenty of great action and upsets taking place along the way.

McCallie School (4-1) takes control at the No. 1 spot after their upset win over nationally ranked Mission Viejo of California. Who else joins the Blue Tornado in Tennessee’s Top 25 rankings?

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest Tennessee high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Sep. 23.

1. McCallie School Blue Tornados

The McCallie Blue Tornados (4-1) proved they’re Tennessee’s top team as they upended Mission Viejo, one of California’s top high school football teams, last week at home.

One of the stars of the game was senior wide receiver Keeyshawn Tabuteau (Vanderbilt commit) as he helped lead McCallie to a 25-14 victory over the Mission Viejo. The Blue Tornado has a roster filled with talent on both sides of the ball, including three-star interior offensive lineman Moussa Seck.

Next test for McCallie is another out-of-state coming into town in Mississippi’s Heidelberg (3-1).

2. Baylor School Red Raiders

The Baylor School Red Raiders (5-0) started the 2025 Tennessee high school football season with five consecutive victories, the latest of which was a 48-7 dismantling of Christ Presbyterian AcademyBaylor School has been mostly dominant in every game they’ve played up to this point and this week take on an undefeated Montgomery Bell Academy squad.

The aforementioned contest should be a good tune up for the following week when the Red Raiders clash with the No. 1 McCallie Blue Tornado in Chattanooga.

3. Oakland Patriots

The reigning Division 1 Class 6A state champions are off to a strong, undefeated start at 5-0.

Oakland’s latest victory was a 38-0 romp over Siegel last week. The closest game the PAtriots have played to this point was their regular season opener, a 28-14 victory over Christ Presbyterian Academy.

This week should provide the next most difficult game for Oakland as they take on an undefeated Blackman (5-0) squad.

There’s not many offenses that look to try and throw on this squad as the Patriots feature a pair of safeties in Joel Wyatt (Tennessee commit) and Craig Tutt (Ole Miss commit).

4. Ravenwood Raptors

The Ravenwood Raptors (5-0) is coming off a 42-10 victory over Franklin. The Raptors have won 18 of their last 19 games heading into their September 26 home game against Christ Presbyterian Academy.

Ravenwood has a couple Division I recruits in Boston College commit Femi Babalola and and Western Kentucky pledge Jaylen Pollard.

The Raptors have a good chance of running the table, going undefeated throughout the regular season.

5. Ensworth Tigers

Former NFL quarterback Tim Hasslebeck leads the Ensworth Tigers and if not for a one point loss to Nashville Christian in Week 2, this is easily an undefeated team right now.

Hasslebeck’s son, Taylor, is already committed to Wyoming and has led the team to a 4-1 start. Ensworth is coming off a 56-8 thrashing Lipscomb Academy last week. The Tigers next game is against a very good Brentwood Academy.
