What are your predictions for this weeks Jets @ Dolphins game? Plus players you would steal for the Phins.
It’s become an understatement at this point to claim that our Miami Dolphins have had a rough start to this season. I am, by nature, a person who tries to stay positive about the teams I follow, but even I was seriously concerned about two things as we headed into the regular season. Letting the only tight end that this team has had that was a real threat in a good while be sent packing in a combo trade with our only decent corner left on the roster. Minkah Fitzpatrick was a nice piece in return, giving the team a big upgrade at the safety position.
The issue is obviously that while Minkah is a nice piece to have back, the depth of the cornerbacks was already horrible with Jalen Ramsey and Kader Kohou before one was traded away, and the other went down with an injury. Additionally, there seemed to be no attempt to replace tight end Jonnu Smith or his production, and the depth on the offensive line remains FUBAR. In what now seems like a foregone conclusion, our Phins enter week three with a 0-3 record.
Now, despite the horrific start to the season, the team gets a bit of luck with 11 days off, followed by a home night game against the hated and also 0-3 New York Jets. While the Jets are coming in with the same woeful record they have thus far, they have scored more points in three games (69-56) and given up fewer points (93-97) in three games than our Dolphins. I also trust Jets’ head coach Aaron Glenn to have his squad ready to play against our coaching staff at this point.
