Karl-Anthony Towns played through a couple small injuries for the New York Knicks last season.

Notably, Towns played through a finger injury, as well as a bum knee throughout the season. Despite that, Towns still had one of the strongest seasons of his career, averaging 24.4 points and 12.8 rebounds per game, while being named an All-Star, and to All-NBA for his efforts.

Back in June, an ESPN report stating that Towns had undergone treatment procedures to repair the damage in his knee and finger made the rounds. On Tuesday, Towns was asked about those procedures, to which he denied any speculation that is going around.

“No I did not have a knee [procedure], where are you hearing this?” Towns questioned with a laugh to a reporter on Media Day.

“Who did that? Centel?” Towns added, referencing the popular X parody account NBACentel.

Nonetheless, Towns will look to manage his injuries throughout 2026 as the Knicks enter this season amongst the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference. Towns was crucial to the Knicks’ run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season — the team’s first appearance in the conference finals since 2000 — and will once again be a key figure in the team’s plans as they aim to secure their first NBA championship since 1973.
