This should be impossible, but it's actually not.
Raiders' Ashton Jeanty has gotten 101% of his rushing yards after contact this season originally appeared on The Sporting News
Ashton Jeanty hasn't blown people away to begin his rookie season with the Las Vegas Raiders.
But in reality, he's doing something that should pretty much be impossible.
Through three weeks, Jeanty has earned 101% of his rushing yards after contact, according to Fantasy Life's Ian Hartitz.
That sounds illogical, but it actually makes sense.
RBs usually are handed the ball behind the line of scrimmage, but they don't gain official yardage until they're beyond the line.

So this stat says that Jeanty has been hit behind the line almost constantly this season.
That's a poor job of planning and management by the Raiders, who surely knew they were targeting Jeanty and could've done better to give him some real blockers. At least if he goes one direction, Jeanty is probably OK.
So far, he has 47 carries for 144 yards, a 3.1 yards per carry average.

But when you consider that Jeanty is getting popped in the backfield on every play, it's not a bad outcome at all.
The Raiders certainly have to fix this problem. They can't just move further into the season without addressing the fact that Jeanty has pretty much negative space to run.
It's too important for Jeanty to pan out. You can't use a pick that high on him, say many pundits, but the Raiders decided he was worth it. Now they've got to give him at least enough blocking to have a chance.
