The Blues were linked with Subiabre in the summer, but an offer never went in for the 18-year-old, but reports are now suggesting he’s back on their radar.

According to publication Soy del Millo, Subiabre has received calls from Chelsea and Barcelona recently, with the youngster out of contract in December 2026.

The report adds River Plate were confident of securing a contract renewal, and Subiabre is believed to have a €30m release clause, which the Argentine club want to raise to €100m, although his agents would prefer €35-€40m.

Subiabre is a right winger who can play across the frontline and he’s made 19 appearances for River Plate, scoring one goal.

Chelsea continue South American recruitment drive

The Blues have signed young talent from all over the world, but they are particularly active in South America and have really tapped into that market.
