A highly-regarded up-and-coming member of the youth ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona was afforded a call-up to senior training at the Ciutat Esportiva on Wednesday.
The player in question? Baba Kourouma.
Kourouma, for his part, is the brother of former Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba.
The 16-year-old is a gifted central defender, who has long been considered one of the standout up-and-coming talents in Catalunya’s capital.
Making Kourouma such a special prospect is his versatility, with the starlet also capable of filling roles in midfield and even out wide.
And as alluded to above, such abilities have evidently begun to pique the attentions of Hansi Flick and his staff.
As per a report from journalist Sergi Capevila of Diario Sport:
‘Another exciting development at today’s Barca training session. Flick called up Baba Kourouma, the brother of Ilaix Moriba. He’s from the 2009 youth academy class. Another promising talent with great potential.’
