Could a Oleksandr Usyk vs Jake Paul fight happen in the Octagon?
By now almost everyone is aware that Jake Paul will be taking on Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in an upcoming exhibition fight, but Paul also took to social media to unveil his five year plan, which included him beating Oleksandr Usyk. Well, Usyk obviously saw Paul’s post and replied with one of his own, telling Paul he’s willing to face him inside the cage once he closes out his boxing career.
“Good plan, Jake Paul,” Usyk posted on X. “But I’m not here for 5th place — only first. Soon, I’ll close the book on boxing, and after that I’ll be waiting for you in the cage. Let’s see if you’ve got the balls or just hunger for hype.”
Usyk, who is the current undisputed heavyweight champion, is currently taking some time off to deal with some lingering injuries following his second stoppage win over Daniel Dubois this past summer. His future in the sport is uncertain with the general thought that he’ll retire sooner than later. Paul, meanwhile, will look to keep his act on the road when he faces a much smaller Davis this November.
