SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The No. 2 Wall Hawks look to defend its home field in week five.
The No. 2 Wall Hawks are back in town. After nearly shutting out Mason at home in week one, Wall has since gone 3-0 in three consecutive road contests, with lopsided victories over Brownwood, Tuscola Jim Ned and most recently, Monahans. It’s safe to say the Hawks have become road warriors thus far.
In week five, Wall can enjoy playing on its home turf once again at Clayton Weishuhn Field. On homecoming weekend, the undefeated Hawks welcome the Sweetwater Mustangs to town. In head coach Craig Slaughter’s vision, the Hawks’ team identity revolves around veteran players stepping up in big moments.
“It’s a pretty veteran group, so many of those kids were in some of those big games for us in the years past, especially last year,” Slaughter said. “I think [the athletes] are playing like you hope they would. We’re healthy, playing hot and excited for the weeks ahead. We’re thrilled to be back at home this week.”
Wall kicks off its 2025 homecoming game versus Sweetwater on Friday, Sept 26 at 7 p.m. at Clayton Weishuhn Field. The Hawks look to start the season 5-0.
